With Winter on its way out the door, you probably have your eyes set on warmer weather and sunshine. Before homeowners get settled in with warmer temperatures, the best advice we can give is to first prepare the lawn for longer days and more activity outdoors.

Here are some simple ways to get your lawn ready for the warmer season.

Remove Debris: Rake away any leaves or sticks to give the lawn a fresh start for spring.

Apply seed: Look for areas that have a weak growth and spread seed on those areas to help thicken those areas.

Mulch: Mulching helps to lock in moisture. 2″-4″ is a good amount to apply on top of grass.

Water deeply: Water only when the lawn really needs it, then give the lawn a deep watering when you do.
